Creality has a reputation for manufacturing some of the best 3D printers on the market, and with the release of the Creality Ender 6, we can really look into whether its multitude of features is worth buying or not.
The Ender 6 is a serious contender in the FDM 3D printing market with some unique upgrades that really make it attractive to 3D printer users, whether brand new to the field, or advanced with many years of experience.
Without even looking deep into the features, just the initial professional look and fully-enclosed design leaves plenty to be appreciated in a 3D printer.

The integrated all-metal frame along with the acrylic doors, blue corner connectors and acrylic open door structure gives the Ender 6 a very elegant appearance. It can seamlessly fit into any area of your home or office with ease.
I’d have to say that it is probably the best looking Ender 3D printer with plenty of great design and manufacturing put into it. That’s the first thing I noticed when looking at this machine.
Semi-Closed Build Chamber
Now besides the looks, we have to look at the actual features of this 3D printer, with the semi-closed build chamber.
You have transparent acrylic open doors which can protect against drafts and can ever so slightly stabilize printing temperature, although heat can easily escape out the open-top.
I’m sure you can manage to cover the top with something to keep the heat in to fully enclose this 3D printer rather than have it be semi-closed.
Stable Core-XY Structure
The amazing print speeds of up to 150mm/s can be achieved due to the stable Core-XY mechanical architecture. Straight out of the box, without tinkering, you can print extremely fast along with a high quality resolution of 0.1mm.
When taking the price into account, the Ender 6 really does an amazing job to keep the most important features of a 3D printer, being the output quality.
Large Printing Size
As long as we have the space, we all love a large build volume on our 3D printers. The Ender 6 features a build volume of 250 x 250 x 400mm which is more than enough for most of your 3D print designs and models.
It’s perfect for your rapid prototyping needs! The Ender 5 comes in at just 220 x 220 x 300mm, so I’m sure you can appreciate the increase in build volume for this 3D printer.
4.3in HD Touchscreen
It comes with an HD 4.3 inch touchscreen which operates on the 6th version of the user interface system. This touchscreen display is very easy to operate, and gives you a wide range of visual capabilities to adjust or view your printing parameters and much more.
Ultra-Silent Printing
Older style 3D printers were known for being very loud, to the point where many people in a household would be disturbed. It’s now more common practice to use silent drivers to significantly reduce printing noise.

The carborundum glass platform has amazing heat-resistance, as well as thermal conductivity, so your 3D printer heats up quicker than other types of build platforms, and you get better print adhesion.

Fans can be quite noisy
Release is fairly new at time of writing, so there aren’t many upgrades or profiles to be found.
The way the top of the Ender 6 is designed, it’s not too easy to cover the top, making it not ideal for ABS.
Bed can require alignment often if assembly hasn’t been done up to standard.
Some people have reported the enclosure plexiglass holes didn’t line up too well, so you may have to drill holes.
Similar issue with the front door not lining up, which ended up needing a small adjustment.
One user had touchscreen errors, but taking apart the connectors and re-plugging it got it to work/
Plexiglass is prone to cracking if you over-tighten the bolts
Have had reports of filament breaking with retractions

Customer Reviews on the Creality Ender 6
When looking at what customers are saying about the Ender 6, you can mostly see glowing reviews, but there are some smaller issues that arise here and there.
For the most part though, they love how an Ender 3D printer finally comes with an acrylic enclosure chamber. One user mentioned how it looks similar to the Ultimaker 2, yet also performs to a very high standard.
Print quality straight out of the box was exceptional for many users, and the speed is top class. The TMC2208 chip leaves the 3D printer to operate in a very silent manner, with only the fans being heard.
You can upgrade to silent fans also if desired. There are tons of features jam-packed into the Ender 6 and all for a more than reasonable price!
I think the biggest downsides are how new the 3D printer is, so with a little more time, these smaller kinks and troubles will be worked out as Creality usually does!
Once there are more users purchasing the Ender 6 and designing upgrades, as well as giving users pointers, it will truly be a top of the line 3D printer for people to enjoy. Creality always has a large community of individuals who love tinkering with their machines.
There hasn’t yet been one bad review of the Creality Ender 6 3D printer, so I would take that as a great sign!
Verdict – Worth Buying or Not?
The Creality Ender 6 takes many of its technical parts from the well-loved Ender 5 Pro 3D printer, but adds plenty of build volume, a semi-open acrylic enclosure and many other improved components throughout the machine.
When you’re getting an upgrade of an already well-designed machine, you are going to mostly see praises.
Looking at the price point of the Ender 6, I can truly say it is a 3D printer worth buying, especially after we get some more community love for it. I’m sure there will be plenty of upgrades and mods that you can implement after some time.
The Core-XY design allows some serious 3D printing speeds, while still keeping its stability and high quality throughout.
