Solid Structure and Wide Touchscreen
The X-max (Amazon), with its radical creative beauty, assembled with two different circumferences for placing the filament. You’ll be able to get some serious high print quality, time after time with this 3D printer.
It has a full-metal CNC machined aluminum alloy which gives amazing support rather than plastic.
This 5-inch full-color touch screen conjunct with dazzling icons enlarges an eye-catching implementation for you. If you use it, you may find this hardy and robust supportive metal overwhelms the majestic sweetness of the printer. The QIDI TECH Professional service team is ready to serve you.
Ventilated & Enclosed 3D Printer System
The X-Max has a foam filter over the cabinet fans which is in-built, but it doesn’t have too much of an effect on the smaller particles since they can pass through.
It’s more useful for preventing dust from getting in, but for fumes and particulates, they will be able to get through. The enclosed design allows you to keep a constant printing temperature which is especially ideal for certain types of filament.
Large Build Size
The build size of this 3D printer is 300 x 250 x 300mm which is large compared to your average 3D printer.
Removable Metal Plate
The curved metal plate that comes with this 3D printer is removable, making it more convenient for removing your models after the printing process. You can print all sorts of filament with the front side, such as your standard PLA, ABS, TPU & PETG.
The reverse side of the plate is made for advanced materials such as Carbon Fiber, Nylon & PC.
Different Types of Printing for You
You can print PLA, ABS, TPU, but also have a favor to print Nylon, Carbon fiber, PC and other elevated executive materials. It consists of broader and user-friendly applications.
Double Z-Axis
This printer has upgraded its features from single Z-axis to Double Z-axis with more stability and solidarity for larger size prints. Creative illustration of double z-axis motor buildup with four pieces of imported 12mm axis.
Newly Developed Extruder
Assembling of two sets of QIDI Tech Third Generation Extruder combined with many capabilities. I am telling you about these two extruders briefly here:
- A Extruder: This is capable of printing general material such as PLA, ABS, and TPU (already installed on the printer).
- B Extruder: This is capable of printing advanced material such as Nylon, Carbon Fiber, and PC.
Two Different Ways for Placing the Filament
The processes of placing filament are of two ways which are:
- Keeping the filament outside – The filament fecund with eligible smoothness while printing PLA, TPU, and PETG. It is compiled with any brands of 1.75mm filament.
- Keeping the filament inside – The printer fully cable of printing advanced material such as Nylon, Carbon Fiber, and PC. It encourages an enclosed constant temperature printing.
QIDI Print Slicer
The QIDI Tech latest generation of slicer software is the 5.0 version which has been redone with a new user-interface. It’s popular with users because it is a lot easier to operate and get the hang of.
Software slicing algorithm has changed and progresses the quality of the prints by 30% and the rolling speed by 20%.
The QIDI print software conforms with all patterns of QIDI Tech 3D printers for a longer time frame without any cost, which is alternatively a good software rather than other paid software.
QIDI TECH One-to-One Service & Free Warranty
If you run into any issues of have questions about the X-Max 3D printer, you can easily contact the QIDI Tech team who have a responsive communication within 12 hours.
You will be supported by a professional QIDI Tech Amazon after-sale service team so you can rest assured you will be taken care of.
Wi-Fi Connectivity
Most 3D printers don’t usually have Wi-Fi connectivity so this is a nice feature that gives you extra function and ease of operation.
Benefits of the QIDI Tech X-Max
- Amazing and consistent 3D print quality that will impress many
- Durable parts can be created with ease
- Pause and resume function so you can change over the filament anytime
- This printer is set up with high-quality thermostats with more stability and potentiality
- Excellent UI interface that makes your printing operation easier
- Quiet printing
- Great customer service and helpful community
Downsides
It doesn’t have filament run-out detection, so if your filament runs out before the print can finish, it won’t automatically pause. With such a high-end 3D printer, you would expect it to at least have this function, but unfortunately it doesn’t.
This isn’t the end of the world though, since you can generally tell whether you have enough filament for a print.
The instruction manual is said to lack technical guidance in some regards, probably from the language barrier, that is all too known in the 3D printing community
You’re better off finding a clear tutorial or YouTube video to get your key information about the QIDI Tech X-Max (Amazon). The filter doesn’t eliminate fumes from 3D printing, so it seems more for show rather than actual function.
When printing larger objects, your prints can be ruined if the filament plastic slips from the spool. It usually happens if too much filament is pulled from the spool, while the printer head is near the front of the printer. The print head can move too quickly and push the filament back.
A fix you can implement for this is getting PTFE tubing for standard 1.75mm filament then using it to increase the distance where the filament is drawn from.
Another issue that can happen is from the flexible cable that runs to the print head catching on the guild rods. When printing larger objects, the guild rods can start to tear the flexible cable. You should put tape or zip ties to hold the cable in a better spot.
You can’t turn the internal light off, so that could be annoying in some cases.
The touchscreen interface can take a little getting used to, but with the instruction manual you should be able to get through it just fine.

The bed stays pretty level for a long time so you don’t have to be consistently wasting time leveling the bed out. The software isn’t the greatest, but the preview feature is a good touch. The software has been updated now, so this review could have been before the change.
One person talked about an issue with the surface quality, possibly due to the firmware calculating incorrect placement of the print head. It could have been banding from a surface that wasn’t sturdy.
