Dual Extruders

The FlashForge Creator Pro is equipped with a dual extruder that allows efficient dual extrusion prints. This is possible because the nozzles move independently on the X-axis.

The arrangement makes the use of two print heads that are aligned. The dual extruders and enclosed chamber facilitate the user by providing versatile printing possibilities.

It can print a wide variety of materials: PLA, ABS, PLA Color Change, PVA, HIPS, PETG, TPU, Conductive Filament, Metal Filled Filament, Wood Filled Filament, and PP.

Enclosed Printing Chamber

This printer model is able to ensure a stable temperature for printing because of its removable cover and secure door. The enclosed printing chamber is one of the main reasons how this printer is able to print a wide variety of materials.

While printing with PLA, you may remove the cover to allow airflow. In this way, your PLA results will be much better as the chamber will be well ventilated.

The nclosed chamber insulates and protects ABS prints, for optimal results which are pretty difficult on 3D printers without an enclosure.

Sturdy Metal Frame

The sturdy metal frame ensures better stability to the machine and its counterparts when it is operating. Because of increased stability, printing precision has also improved as well as the printing quality.

A sturdy metal frame that is substantially more stable than the original Creator’s wood frame.

The Flashforge Creator Pro has an aesthetic body and design. It has a good appearance and is durable and user-friendly. Compared to its predecessor, this new working model’s speed is increased by up to 60%.

Heated Print Platform

The FlashForge Creator Pro’s heated print bed is now made up of an aluminum alloy which has a thickness of 6.3mm. This new heated printing platform ensures greater thermal stability in general.

Aviation level aluminum plate with a thickness of 6.3mm guarantee its surface is completely flat and will not warp during the heating process.

The metal platform support along with the 10mm guide rod ensures a precise Z axis movement and prevents the platform arm from deforming.

Acrylic Cover

The acrylic cover protects the printer from unwanted dust and foreign particles. It also covers the chamber to protect and insulate the ABS prints.

LED Light and LCD Screen

Includes a newly integrated LCD screen, as well as button board functions that are error-free. The light illuminates the entire build chamber.

The new in built LCD screen has an intuitive control panel with 45° viewing.

Compatibility with Multiple Software

This printer has open-source technology so it is compatible with various software like FlashPrint, Simplify3D, ReplicatorG, and Cura.

New Front Door Access

As previously mentioned, you now have the new front door access which makes it easier to access your build platform.

It has an opening which is almost 180° so you can remove prints, and it is pre-installed so you don’t need to do any extra work.

New Plastic Leveling Knobs

Improved and new large plastic leveling knobs and platform adjusting screws for easier use. They are not only more precise, but also more ergonomic with the end-user in mind. Overall, it improves your leveling accuracy and cuts down the time spent getting your bed level.

Installation-Free Top Cover

You have a new top cover made of Polycarbonate which comes in one solid piece. It is very durable and strong, while maintaining its ability to regulate temperature. This also doesn’t require installation.

Side Handles

New ergonomic side handles make it easier and more comfortable to move the 3D printer from one spot to another.

Downsides

One of the main downsides of the FlashForge Creator Pro is the noise it emits, even though it is an enclosed 3D printer. Compared to quiet 3D printers out there, this one is quite troublesome, where you may be able to hear it from rooms away.

If you are in a generally quiet house or area, this can be frustrating if you aren’t used to it already.

Make sure you get the adequate support by purchasing through certified resellers, as people have had troubles with FlashForge refusing to take responsibility for certain issues.

In some cases, the nozzles have come at different heights meaning one can sometimes knock into your prints or other structures, so either remove or rebalance your nozzles which shouldn’t take too long.

The balancing of the table can take a few times to get right, so it could be a good idea using feeler gauges for accuracy.

It can be a chore loading and unloading filament from the FlashForge Creator Pro, but once you get experience it shouldn’t be too bad of a task.

The build volume of this 3D printer is relatively small compared to some of the larger 3D printers out there, so if you might desire larger projects in the future, you might want to go for a different machine.

The cooling system has some faults, where improvements are needed but you can implement some mods. Many are available online with a quick search.

You’ll be provided with spools for this 3D printer, but they are reported to be quite low quality, leading to clogs along the way. It’s worth trying of course to see how things are, but if they don’t print very well it could be because of the quality.

The whole assembling process is a bit challenging as the instruction manual was not so helpful or detailed. Moreover, the condition of some counterparts was not up to the mark and there was a constant need for replacement. Customer service

Customer Reviews of the FlashForge Creator Pro

A user who previously had the FlashForge Finder then moved onto the FlashForge Creator Pro (Amazon) found it to be a great upgrade. The reason for the upgrade wasn’t just the dual extruders but also the bigger build area and heated build palte.

Unfortunately, the build plate isn’t removable, but it also makes it more level and stable which is an upside. It comes with the plate stickers which work very well and he hasn’t had issues with getting prints to stick down.

Another customer loved how short of a learning curve the 3D printer had, and mentioned that a good software to go along with it is Simplify3D. Cura still works out very well and since this is an older review, Cura has definitely gone through some significant upgrades.

3D printing in general does take a little trial and error, from choosing filament, to temperature settings and slicing software. Many factors in the FlashForge Creator Pro take many of these changes out of the picture, for a smoother 3D printing experience.

Most customers who purchased this printer were happy about the fact that it is very compact and offers numerous features. The printer was able to support various software and provided its user with satisfactory print quality.

Some people preferred using it for professional and personal use as it offered some versatile features.

The printer was able to print different types of materials and many buyers liked this about it. It was easy to use so many buyers who were beginners, appreciated its abilities.

However, many people claimed that the package they received was damaged or had missing counterparts. The helpline service and staff didn’t prove to be quite efficient too in some cases, but this can be corrected by chasing down the right teams.

People also faced issues because of the spool and the filament. The mechanics were not designed so carefully and there were some wiring problems as well.

Verdict

I would definitely recommend getting the FlashForge Creator Pro yourself for a great start to a 3D printing journey, or as an upgrade to your current 3D printer. There are several thousand customers who absolutely love their 3D printer and wouldn’t change it for another.

The design of this 3D printer is so simple, yet very professional and effective in achieving several goals that make life easier.

It’s advised to start simply, with a good quality PLA and using simple standard settings to get going so you can calibrate everything properly. Once you get to printing good quality prints, you can start to expand out to different material and bigger projects.

Make sure you level your bed out properly so you don’t run into common problems that other people experience.

After using the normal nozzles for some time, I would advise trying out different nozzle materials to see how it makes a difference to your prints. I actually wrote an article comparing Brass vs Stainless Steel vs Hardened Steel Nozzles, along with a few other options so check that out!
